WXRT personality Marty Lennartz claims that his most irrational act, quitting a full-time job to intern at WXRT, was also his best move, as he officially joined the staff in 1981 as producer for Terri Hemmert's morning show. Since 1986 Marty has been hosting the overnight program, and he also can be heard on weekend afternoons.
A lifelong Chicagoan, Marty discovered his alter ego, The Regular Guy, in 1984. Since that time, The Regular Guy's Goin' to the Show movie reviews have become one of the most unique and popular features on Chicago radio. The Regular Guy has also appeared on The Movie Channel. Since 2000, Marty has also been the host of The Big Beat. Marty is active in the commercial voice-over business, voicing commercials for 7-11, Sears, Bud Light, Sara Lee, Cadillac, and McDonald's, as well as providing the in-game voice for Microsoft's "Midtown Madness," Rand McNally software on Gateway computers, and cbssports.com.
A graduate of Columbia College, he currently resides on Chicago's North Side.
